- Hook up scan tool to inspect faults along with live data reading. Engine would stall before getting a chance to understand what the sensor are reading. Faults found were found are: P0137 "Heater O2s Circuit low Voltage Sensor 2" P0138 "HO2s Circuit High Voltage Sensor 2" P0140 "HO2s Circuit Insufficient Activity Sensor 2" Removed upper oxygen sensor to inspect inside with scope, found no catalytic converter material inside. Ordered front and rear cat. converters as it might be possible that there is no material inside the rear converter. After all repairs completed and faults cleared performed an Oxygen sensor relearn readiness. After several driving cycles there is on O2 sensor monitor not in the ready status. Customer needs to keep driving and rechecking before performing a smog inspection.
- Removed front converter and inspect inside the rear converter. Confirmed that there is also no material inside converter. Customer approved to replace both the front and rear converters. Installed up stream and down stream O2 sensors as both sensors have excessive amounts of carbon that will not function correctly if not replaced. Recheck reading after engine stalling issue was resolved. All input and output sensors are working with in there parameters. Need to drive vehicle to help reset monitors to the complete status.
- Customer states that the vehicle will stall out after about 15 minutes of driving. Needs to let vehicle sit 5-30 minutes before it can be started again.
